About Ken Knox
When he was 12 years of age, Ken Knox went to the Motown Revue at the Fox Theater in Detroit with friends and became fascinated by the music and the stars on the stage—The Temptations, The Four Tops, The Supremes, Bobby Taylor and the Vancouver's, Junior Walker and the AllStars. After that experience, Ken picked up his brother Leonard's sax and eventually taught himself to play. This led to Knox forming his own group and performing in clubs and bars around Detroit and subsequently the meeting with Danny Woods in 1973, which finished up with Ken and his group dancing on the bar with Woods. Before the chance encounter with Woods, Ken did a short stint touring as a musician with the Detroit Emeralds and Former Ohio Player Walter Junie Morrison.
